Most of Alaska lacks color during the winter, but at Eklutna Tailrace the coldest days of winter are the most beautiful. In below-zero weather, the frost builds up on the trees making this location an absolute stunner. Other notable features: milky turquoise water, tree-lined pathways, beautiful sunsets and a quiet atmosphere. If the gate at the parking lot is closed, there is a short walk but it is nice and flat.
